Hi guys,

I need help/info, as some of u may know I am selling my car, nico from the forum is buying it, however he is financing it through westbank and they required the car to go for a rwc.

Rwc failed, based on the below, nico is aware of the things needed and will fix it when he gets the car, but now we need to get it to pass rwc,

First I need to focus the lights, any idea on cost or can I do it,
Then I need to adjust the handbrake the right is holding more then the left, but without a machine how will I know how much to adjust, current its like 1 number difference,
Then my door mirror is cracked, what can I do, was thinking is there like a mirror film that we can stick over the glass,
Then I need to reset the airbag light, I hit the occupancy plug some time ago and the light came on.

Lastly would u believe he marked the car down for black smoke, I called him and asked him if he knew if was a diesel, he apologized and said okay he will exclude that, I then asked him if he was racing the car as it only throws alot of black smoke under hard acceleration, he went quiet, idiots, lucky I was not there, wife dropped the car off.
Another joke, you know the middle seat belt clip, I tucked it in the seat so if someone sits in the middle they dont sit on it, he marked that down saying if must be visible,

Okay so can someone help me reset the airbag light and focus the lights and the mirror issue pls.

I must add I was happy that with an AA full inspection everything else passed 100%.

1) on setting the light focus....I am sure Youtube is your friend, should be a DIY
2) Airbag light, anybody with a code-reader can reset it....provided fault not currently present
3) Buy an aftermarket mirror from Midas and stick it over/ontop of the existing cracked one

Thx Ralf, will try midas tomorrow, will it pass with an aftermarket mirror,
Code reader I dont know anyone,
Lights already busy reading, seems it can be adjusted, I wonder if that idiot first checked the inside switch which controls the lights level. :RedNo:

I wonder how much that mirror cost, I know its abit hard to get as they normally sell the unit.

get some contact cleaner and clean the seat plug this may resolve the issue completely :)

I am afraid (may be wrong), but once the airbag light has been tripped, it can only be reset with a computor, even if the original fault has been fixed, even a battery disconnect-reconnect won't clear an airbag light (Imho)

I think you maybe right and it will need a reset anyway... but if bumping it caused the fault it well worth giving it a clean

I did remove it, tried everything, think a reset is needed, hopefully it will go away with reset,

I just adjusted the lights, I dont think with the eye it can adjust 100%, but it was way off, so much better now, will call autostyle in the morning for the mirror repair kit,

Anyone willing to help with the airbag reset please.

^^^ I offered it a while ago, you might have missed it. If the fault is cleared I can reset for you, easy peasy.

Problem is you'll have to make a trip to Benoni and I can only help from Monday.

How did they check for errors? It might be that the error is no longer there, but with something like an Airbag, it needs to still be reset properly before the light goes away, you can't reset it without something like INPA or ISTA-D. If you can't reset it with these tools, it means the error is still present and we would have to trace the fault.

I sent you a PM, let's see if we can work something out.

Ta,

When we were there I tried resetting the SRS using INPa but it refused to extinguish the light. We didn't however fiddle with the plug, we should have while we were there.

I'm sure it's an easy fix. Gbyleveldt can sort you out, I'm in Maputo till the 28th.

Is it the glass of the mirror that's cracked? You used to get just the glass from the agents, but that was on my E46. Not sure about E90. I can't remember what I paid, but it wasn't offensive

The adjustment is on the rear wheels

Thx singh, I adjusted it there, but wanted to adjust the cable as well.
Mine is currently at 7 clicks, I cant adjust more at the wheels or it will bind.

Dont know if that plastic mirror is going to pass the test, maybe check out a scrap yard, you should be able to pick up one fairly cheap.
