HELP: Possible fuel pump issue?

Good day all,

Recently I've been noticing something strange on my N55 135i.
You know when you first unlock your car in the morning, the fuel pump goes off near the driver rear side. I believe that is called priming? That is normal but recently I noticed that it does that upon unlocking even if the car was driven and parked off for a short while. Say I get to the shops and the car is parked for 30 minutes. Upon unlocking OR opening the driver side door, the pump activates. Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this issue before (if it is in fact an issue?!)

Thanks!

If you look at the logs of your car, you can monitor the values of your high and low pressure pumps, that will give you a better indication if there is an issue

I was hoping nobody would suggest logging as I don't have the tools or knowledge to do so. :hammerhead:

After coming home, I parked the car in the garage. Switched off. Passenger side door was opened while I got some stuff out. Probably about 2 minutes. When I closed the door, the pump primed. Surely that's not normal?

It should prime when ever it expects you to start the car. Are you still on motor plan?

That does make sense. Thanks bud.

Car is currently on 49k. Service is due in 11kms. Will have them check it out then.

Hi.
It's fine dude. Mine does the same thing for the past three years and no issues. My loggs show my pump still strong...
