Apologies if this is in the wrong section.

'15 M235i 6M/T, bootmod3 91 map, but has also started happening with stock map.
No engine lights or codes are thrown.
It feels like traction control is engaging, but it's not that.
Clutch slipping? But then why when it happens does boost plummet.
Happens every time between 2k and 3k rpm, and in higher gears (4th,5th, 6th)
Sometimes happens in 3rd, but never 1st or 2nd.

So, issue is getting worse and now does this throughout the rev range, and looks like clutch slipping and catching...so new clutch time:cry:.
Just spoke to mechy and he says I have to do flywheel at the same time. Is this right?
I've never heard of having to replace FW with clutch before, only if FW is starting to move about and rattle etc.

Hi, yes it is recommended to replace the dual mass flywheel when doing the clutch. If it is warped/worn you risk the new clutch getting worn in a short period of time.

Cool, if I has to, I has to.

So where locally is there to get a clutch and flywheel kit that won't completely bankrupt me.
Are stealership prices decent?

Definitely worth checking with the dealer especially ABM considering the fanatics discount.

Also check with Goldwagen what brands they have for your model. I am sure it will have to be an order since manual x35i's are very rare.

Awesome thanks.

Tried GW. They have one Luk clutch but no flywheels.

While you at it get the 550i clutch kit and do a CDV delete if not already done.
I've seen others mentioning the 550i clutch. From the F10 5 series?
I've seen differing stories about the CDV removal, so loving and other hating.
On my B8 S6 it was lovely...might just do a DIY as it seems a simple thing to do, much easier than on the Audi.

Yeah i had the 550i clutch on my 335, felt like stock but it handled the power so much better than the oem clutch. Even the manual B58 cars are using the 550i as an oem upgrade. CDV helped me alot to be honest, that delay on quick changes makes a big difference

Price wise the 550i and the oem clutch is the same (When i did this not sure about now). bolt on upgrade with no other modifications so its a no brainer

Better get yourself somewhere comfy to sit down.:(
I just received the parts quote from ABM and with discount it's over R25k (That's excluding any labour)

Sorry for the late reply.
You're looking at about R35k on clutch and flywheel replacement including labour.
Unfortunately the flywheel is specific to the M235i and none of the other N55 flywheels will fit. Pain in the ass because they're all cheaper.
There are aftermarket solutions, but by the time you've imported any of them, price has skyrocketed.

I see a lot of guys overseas just replace the clutch and not the flywheel, which I feel is taking a bit of a chance especially if you don't know the car.
