Help On BMW e36

Guys,

Can anyone help me with the power (KW) on a E36 328i Individual Motor Sport?
Is it the same as a normal 328i? or whats the diff except for cosmetic changes.

Im trying to find the e36 owners manual on the net but cant seem to find it.....

What year is your model..? Mine is from 1998. These are very nice cars indeed.

I had the same problem when i bought mine about 3 years ago - still have not found
any detailed information on the web...bits here & there.

I think the individual tag makes this difficult.

What i have done is obtain the vehicle's build sheet from BMW.

My car's build sheet states the engine's power output to be 150 KW.
The standard 328i power output is around 144 KW.

The additional power was obtained by fitting better exhaust esp. branches.
This was needed to overcome the extra drag caused by the addition of front & rear spoilers.

As for the rest - I do believe that the exhaust, gearbox, differential and trimming is from the 3.0L M3

Best you can do is take the car for a dynomometer test as some power and torque is lost with age.
Do a couple of runs (say 3) to obtain an average.

I do have some dyno data of my car before and during minor mods. Where in Pretoria are you from..?
Maybe we can get together to compare cars or work on this issue. PM me if interested and post some pics..!

WOW thats interesting hey.....Nah my buddy is busy buying a 1997 model. So he just needed to know the specs. Funny why the specs cannot be found on the Net.

I was looking for one for about 2 months. I couldn't find a clean one so i ended up buying another VR6 lol....

Guess people are holding onto these gems

Where did you get the build sheet from?

Would you like to share your mods wrt to exhaust (branches).

And I didnt know that the diff and gearbox is from the 3.0? Does that mean you have an LSD (im assuming the 3.0 has an LSD)?

I obtained the vehicle's build sheet from a BMW dealer using VIN.

These cars are really scarce & i often get offers to sell. I have even had offers for more than i paid for it..!

I am busy making compilation of my modifications & data. I'll post it on to this site as soon as i am done.

I not fitted any after market branches (yet) due to the car already having branches fitted by BMW Motorsport.

I am however considering doing so as to increase the exhaust size from 2x 50 mm to 2x 57 mm like on 3.2L M3.

I might even use my M3's exhaust on my 328iM and up the M3's to dual 63mm..!

Branches are currently fitted to the car so its difficult to observe them properly.

I'll post some pictures of branches anyway when done.
