Help needed on M3 e36 3.2

Hi, I'm currently experiencing that the vehicle is holding back. First of all when i need to start the car i need to crank 2 to 3 time before it starts. When driving the car its revs up easily to 5000rpm and after that it take forever! I've been told it could possibly be a fuel pump, I had the pump tested and it works perfectly fine. I've even had the fuel filter changed and the result stays the same. They slapped the dianostic machine on and everything seems to be o.k!
My next part to check would probably be the fuel regulator and also the voltage to the fuel pump.
Can anyone assist me in finding the possible fault please?

About the cranking up 2 to 3 times . The computer box on my dad's M3 E36 was the problem apparently . They gave it new coils too and it was having no power between 0 and 3000 rev's . Might wanna check that . Not sure .

Thanks for the input but i'm almost sure the dianostics would've picked it up if it had to be any of the coils.

Do you have DIS or INPA to diagnostic check the engine yourself? I find it hard to believe that no errors get stored?

I had the car at zeemax (cpt)(www.zeemax.co.za) where they did the testing.

M3_357 get your car on an AUTOBOSS diagnostics machine, I've had my car on others that says the car is fine but even still the autoboss picked up water temp switch and knock sensors. I changed them and whala.. Autoboss is the machine!

Kevin23 clean your air flow meter with carb cleaner.. If that doesn't help get diagnostics done but I can almost then guarantee you its the lambda sensors!

Thanks Street Racer. I sent the car away to zeemax and they'll probably sort things out for me!:thumb:

This sounds like a sticky solenoid to me. Check the solenoids in the vanos! If it 3.2 then it's most likely to be on the exhause cam side.
