Help needed : N55 335i

Hey gents,

So a mate of mine has an E90 n55 335i. His current mods are N55 JB4 and downpipe. When we went to ODI his times seemed really confusing. IIRC he did a 212km/h 1km run. That speed doesn't sound right? He sent me his dyno from Hyper Power Dynamometers and his ratings were: 280.1HP and 482NM. Shouldn't he be expecting more?

What steps should we take with diagnosing?
Any one able to help? He is in pretoria but doesn't mind a drive.

From the power output it seems he needs to crank the boost .

I haven't been in it but that power curve doesn't seen smooth at all!

That is waaaaaay off the mark unfortunately.
Has he done logs?
Does he have it on the right settings?
Will PM you my number, add me on whatsapp and I'll see what I can do to help.

He is making his power in the right range, and nm's seem consistent with downpipe.
What map was he on?
THis looks like a map 4 run.
THe JB could have reverted back to map 4 (stock map) if there are errors picked up. Thats what I think has happened here.

Yeah agreed. NF should help with that (hopefully)

I have a 135 n55 with just the jb4 running on map5 and I only got 300whp and 540nm. Seems pretty weak?

Not sure how I check if anything is wrong?

Dont have the USB cable to log?

Where should the power be at ?

the curves definately dont look happy at all, unforunately without logs or a knowledgeable user understanding the operation of the system its all just a peashoot in the dark...

there are quite a few well versed JB4 users in GP and i am sure someone will hook him up, it does look like a map 4 run with those figures,

first step is get a USB cable and get some logs done, are you at highveld or reef? what fuel was in the car? no other supporting mods? N54/N55? the list goes on, unfortunately without enough info we cant help, go introduce yourself and your ride and then start your own thread to get assistance...

Sure I will I did specify n55 and I just have a jb4.. at the highveld..

A lot of factors could be influencing the outcome. Where did you dyno?
223wkw and 540nms isn't bad for just JB to be honest with you. Depends also what map you were on, what fuel etc etc etc

Are we sure it is in fact a JB4 s3? Could it be a jb2 or jb+ perhaps? Might be a good idea to confirm that before going crazy on the settings.
