Help Needed: E46 M3 Rear Noise- Problem Solved :)

Hi There

I need everyones expertise, when i make a u-turn i get a whining noise from the rear of my car, its almost like somthing is rubbing together and grinding, any ideas what the problem is??

LOL, i wish someone was stuck under, that will be cheaper than what the damage actually is

Its your LSD differential grinding... usually happens when making a sharp slow turn. Somesay all e46 ///M's do this.Others say LSD need sreplacing or needs oil.

Mine does the same thing occasionally.

And the CLUNK into 2nd gear also very annoying..

Hey Guys

Just found out that E46 Models before '06 had normal diff oil in it, but their is a new diff oil thats in the '06 upwards model, and this is the correct diff oil for our cars, BMW differential fluid is 83222282583 which on the bottles is labeled SAF-XJ + FM booster, these Fukers where supposed to tell us there was a cure to the problem that we have, but if you dont ask them then they cant be bothered, will find out abt prices, we need 1.1Lt of this stuff, hope this helps.

I have changed my diff...so i cant exactly go ask BMW to replace the oil...they gonna see the modification

Just walk into the Bmw service centre, ask them for this oil, think we need 3 bottles, and pay for it, and walk out, have someone else change the oil for you, thats what im going to do

I tried the oil and problem solved, not even a sqeak, the oil is expensive but it fixed the problem, i was scared i needed a new diff
