Hmm might still be coils. Get a multimeter and test it. To only check if it has spark is not the correct way of finding out if it has an issue. If injectors was the issue it would have started and died again with carb cleaner. However if spark is weal it will start and run, but not as it should.

Just properly test the coil.

thanks for all the suggestions guys.

Gordvisr, where would i find the cold start sensor on a corsa? i dont think this car has one

update: ive disconnected the alarm/immobilizer system, the car still has the same problem. the aftermarket alarm system only cuts the fuel pump relay, which is working, but i disconnected everything and rejoined wires etc anyway.

ive double checked all sensors, ground points, swapped out the battery when the car is starting and when its not starting. all check out ok.

the only thing i didnt check was the transponder key barrel connections, i forgot about that.

the thing thats strange is if i swing the starter and spray some starter fluid in the intake the car starts up perfectly and idles smooth.

this is very very frustrating. last night i took a chance and went to McD's, car started perfectly and drove 3km to McDs. i went in got my order, came out, not starting. luckily i had some carb cleaner in the car and sprayed it in the intake to get the car started.

Check on your head below the coilpack.

hey guys,

so i thought after all the helpful replies, it only fair to post an update.

after replacing the MAP, temp., and crank sensors the car still refused to start one morning on my way to work. so i rolled the car down to the local mechanic, told them my story and left the car there. they called me back that afternoon and told me the car is fixed and ready for collection.

Apparently, the fuel pump relay had dry joints which were re-soldered and the wiring was eaten by "cockroaches". which i dont believe since i checked all the fuel pump wiring, top to bottom and replaced the relay. but nevertheless the car is fixed and has been running with no issue for two weeks now, so i really dont care whether they said the found a dead monkey in the fuel tank, the car is fixed and R850 was worth it for ridding me of my headache.
