So I got myself a 2nd hand 135i Beem last week with 86k km on it... Have been loving the car since day one, except when I took delivery the problem didnt happen.

Its an N54 2008 Model.

Everytime I start the car or even just "on" the ignition, after about 5min it makes a quick beep, and then 20seconds nothing followed by a loooooong beep for about another 20seconds.

Its different than any of the warning gongs for ice and seatbelt.and I cannot find anything on google or youtube.

Please help

This guy says he found it to be some anti theft alarm or something but I couldnt find anything except a random button next to where your knee would be about when driving and pressung it does nothing to the sound

The dealer hasn't shared any info to me regarding previous owner. I know its still under motorplan till next month or something but not sure how it works because it was a non BMW dealer I bought it from

If it's still got balance of plan take it in... just get them to check your Motorplan is indeed active before they do any work... good luck bud.... by the way nice color, crimson red?

So they wont complain because motorplan hasnt been transferred to my name?
Yes I think the printout of the motorplan history says its Crimson red... I myself was never fond of a red car, but loving my new baby red and all!

That does not sound like a BMW warning beep... Does the car have or had aftermarket PDC or maybe those lazer detector/jammer things? My bet is its something aftermarket.

The PDC is standard and works through the speakers like normal.

My bet would also be something aftermarket but I have no idea where to look.any idea where I can possibly start?

The sound seems to be coming from the cluster area

To answer your first question - Generally when you purhased the car, the dealer should have done the Mplan transfer for you as it cost some money to get that to happen and also any issues with the car would be detected and will be the dealers problem.

If there is a button by your knee I belive it may be some sort of vehicle tracking system... it might be beeping due to an error (possibly because the account is suspended/terminated)

Wow, I never thought about it being an old tracker, now that you mention it it sounds like the company fleet vehicle trackers beeping!

Thanks but now I probably have to get hold of the old owner or what?

Yup you do. Give someone at BMW the VIN and they will be able to get you the details of the previous owner

Your motorplan is going to be an issue from what you have said.

Before the motorplan is transferred onto your name it must go to BMW for a quality check.

They will not do any repair under MP until this is done.

The dealer should have done this before you took ownership of the car.
