Hi Guys

Please can someone lend some advice to me.

Ok so i drive a E90 320d Facelift.

I have the standard 16" BMW rims and Run flats on.

I have just bought myself 19" rims NO-RUN FLATS.

So here is the problem i am facing. I have a indicator on the dashboard that monitors the Run flats. Since changing the rims today i now have it showing the Run flat indicator, which usually means that the tyers are flat????

How do i bypass the warning signal on the computer read out not to show that.

Thanks in advance for your input

Regards

You need to re-initialize it when changing your wheels. Firstly, make sure all 4 tyres are running the correct pressure. Then hold the tyre button for 5 seconds before driving off. The light should go off after a few seconds of driving.

I can't recall exact details, but I think this process is in the manual too

Ok so you are almost there, had to play a bit so here is the solution.

Check and correct all tyre pressures if necessary.
Engine running but not moving, left stalk, click the little forward facing lever up or down until you see the picture that looks like a cross section of a tyre with a ! in the middle of it. (IMPORTANT!!!)Press the BC button once, Then press and hold the BC button again until a tick appears, drive off.

All sorted you have now bypassed the Runflat indicator:thumbs:

Thanks guys for all your Help:thumbs:

Hi all. I also get the run flat indicator coming on every once and awhile after a dice. I re-initialize the computer after making sure the tyre pressures are fine. I know I am not suppose to push the car so hard but its such a pleasure to drive and when someone revs his Nissan, Toyota, Ford or Merc next to me, I cant help but showing off my torque and 177bhp. Is there maybe something else that I can do to prevent the run flat indicator from coming on after pushing my sports-pack into sport-drive (except Not-Dicing). I also take the car in at BMW SMG for checks every 10000km instead of every 15000km as indicated on the 320D manual.

P.S I only dice when there are no cars on a main road and always in a sober state and I don't ever go more than 245km/h (limiter enforced and not chipped).

As they say, RTFM!

Basically as said, inflate the tyres to the desired and correct pressure, then cycle to the TPM and press and hold the BC reset button until it shows a tick symbol. It is then initialised to those tyres and pressures and will monitor from then onwards.

Hi everyone - to follow up on my run-flat situation: I got another run-flat indication and it seems I got 2 small punctures in both my rear tyres. I thought it can be repaired but Good Hope tyres and SMG told me now I need to replace both and its R3900 per Continental tyre. They said the normal tyres will cost R1700 but I prefer the run-flat once as I like travelling long distances and dont have space in the boot for a spare. BMW SMG wants to charge R3300 but it is Bridgestones.

Can anyone refer me to a place in Cape Town that can charge me less? I really didnt think these runflats were that expensive

Cabrio's, especially the '95s need Special 95 Cabrio fuel found only at Cabrio stations, also remember that 95 Cabrio's require Special 95 Cabrio Oil, not to be confused with the standard 94 Sedan oil.

ps. start a new thread and give more info. In fact, rather don't. Any fuel is fine.
