Howzit guys!

New to the forum and wanted to make a informal introduction! Excellent stuff to read, thanks for all the input!

Getting my first BMW this week (e36 316i). Not too exciting car but im sure im going to be happy either way.

Sold my Ford Focus ST170, didn't want to upgrade due to a potential move oversea's...

But if i dont go then an //M is on the cards...

welcome dude. Just a word of warning: if you are saying that it is a downgrade buying a bmw after a ford, you are heading for trouble. Haha.

@Jiggy Nice one, The E36 316i is an awesome car, every time I get into mine from driving the E46 318i I get such a smile on my face as it just drives so much nicer, more of the sheer driving pleasure than the E46

@Freerider you can buy mine if you miss yours so much :)

thanks gents, going to make her shine this weekend.

Anyone have some good advise for treating dry leather? I heard washing it with saddle soap and treating it with Dubbin is the best option.

Any comments?

Aah...a 316i... My first BMW was a e30 316i with airon and powersteering, no electric windows or anything else, what a reliable car she was! Still remember fitting a rev counter seeing as she had a clock where the revcounter was suppose to be! :)

welcome...my first BMW was a E36 318is. loved the car the first 2 years, then started to get bored. bought a e46 318ti last year, love the looks and handling. kept the e36 318is, changed the engine and gearbox to a 328. was dumb enough to fit stainless exhaust. i had the ecu re-mapped a few month ago, but fitted a AFE cold air induction last week, was wondering if i need to have it re-tunned.

The usual wear & tear items, Tie rod ends, Control arm bushings, headliner drooping.

Mine popped the engine @ 88K Km when my mom still had it (But that was due to manufacturing fault so dont worry)

Other than servicing & replacing wear & tear items & replacing things I have damaged/broken there is not too much that gives problems

What year is yours? I got a 1992 with the M42 Engine.
