The 323i suffers from power loss at highveld, also is a 6 cylinder and will be heavy because of being a 6 cylinder and suffering at highveld. however, it is an auto or manual? I think you should still be getting lower around 12l/100km perhaps?

is the car in MP? when was it's last service and what is the car's mileage? who maintained the car if it is out of plan and have you done a major service on it when you recieved it?

Mis-maintenance could cause come high fuel consumption, dirty filters etc.

hope you come right bud but a 6 cylinder is such a sweet singing car but 400 odd from a tank seems normal as my bro-in-law had an 06 323i manual and around 450km on a tank and he was happy. long road was between 650km - 690km if he was lucky.

My dads 323i does 8.6L per 100k's, mostly highways and long distance driving.

If I fill R300 in the E90 323i with daily use in peak hour traffic in getting around 400km and its auto.

yep my ex e90 323i averaged around 8.5l/100km, do a service and drive the crap out of it...literally :roflol:

OP - Get codes read. With consumption like that there is more than likely going to be a fault code. Possibly your thermostat has failed (In the open position) which means your car never gets to operating temperature and runs too cold.
