Quick one

my heater started hating on my girlfriend and is now only heating the driver side:thumb:

Cant help but feel bad for my chic as im sitting in warm comfi heat and she's freezing her ass off -

how do i fix this...where do i start looking?

with the heat turned up, its pushing cold air through any vents on the passenger side and warm air to me:dunno:

As far as I know you need to change part 1.
Stuck valve. Not sure if it can be serviced, and its not too cheap. About R2000ish if I recall + labour.

Update - just found this. http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/techarticles/E36-Valve-Cleaning/E36-Valve-Cleaning.htm

Looks like a kak job

IMHO the valve no 1 is culprit , maybe a cleanout will help . Caused by lack of antifreeze / bad maintenance ? Same valve on citi golf R30.00 at Goldwagen !!
Had trouble with e36 325i and flushed it out and was lucky , must do 328i soon -no heat on my side .

Fixed...dont know how long it will last though....Heres what i did. After getting advice here, I planned on cleaning the heater valves and freeing blockages...the weather is so bad lately that i really didn't feel like doing a job like this so i went total ghetto on the car. I drove home from work last night with the heater at full blast. When i got home i idled the car, leaving the heater on and took a 23mm spanner to the valves(behind intake mani). What can you possibly do with a 23mm Spanner on those valves you ask? Well, i moered the valves gently but continuously with the spanner, got into the car and felt the heat that turned on me has now returned...:) so yeah, there was a block - somehow i got it unblocked. Drove to work this morning and its still working. Previous owner must've not used the heat that often - read that that causes the blocks.
