Guys, is there a way to stop it and fix what has bubbled so far. Problem area is by the sun visors.

Unfortunately the material separates from the sticky foam backing and it cannot be fixed.

pull it of and spray with glue...dont buy cheap glue...stick back on..... alternatively...remove the roof liner.....it takes a bit of manoeuvring.....remove the whole fabric....and replace with vinyl.....try to get the same colour and texture like the rest of the plastic bits in the car....use vinyl glue...car is gonna give you a bit of a buzz due tot he glue fumes for a while...but it looks great afterwards and easy to clean as opposed to the fabric....good luck

Mike here, posting from Jeanre's account as my Notebook is at home.

I spoke to our trimmers, as said above a fix is not possible as the actual fabric pulls away from the foam - Any glue you use will soak through the fabric and look terrible.

Our Trimmer can do a full re-trim, including the door pillars for R1375.00 all inclusive.

Lemme know if you want to make a booking! :=):

Hmm, tempting, what about going that black suede look.

How long would it take.

Thanks Mike for all the help

With regards to the suede type finish, this is not recommended.

The reason being is that there is little stretch in the suede fabric so to get a decent finish you need to really pull the fabric tight, the problem with this is that with the temps inside a car and the constant changes thereof the suede fabric will pull loose very quickly again.

Now this compared to say a standard headliner fabric (Which he can do in black) has stretch in all areas so it does not pull loose and lasts much longer.

You can do it, but he does not recommend it.

Time wise, you are looking at around two days.

Well thats if you use the wrong suede. Ive done it and had no issues for 2 years so far. I did however need to import the fabric as the local guys didnt have anything suitable, nor were they interested in sourcing. Upholstery shops here didnt even know what UV protected meant.
If I recall it was this one - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Suede-Headl...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item337c284c82

That's exactly what our trimmer said, too expensive and the finish of the local fabric doesn't last.

I can confirm this as the suede in my interior is fooked after 7 months.

Still cheap compared to proper automotive alcantara.

If you see the prices for the Alcantara going into the M5 you will cry.

That is one hellishly expensive fabric and apparently extremely difficult to source in SA.
