Headlight Restore - Like New :-P

I have been reading up on ways to restore my 7er's headlights to like new condition. Did it today...by removing the protective skin :p Lol. Now they look newer than my SO's 2013 Merc :)

It was a clear plastic film. Rather thick and yellowed with age. Anyone know where I can get these or what they are called?

Thought I commented on this. Laminex you can DIY. You can also do VPS which is probably stronger. But alot more expensive.

Not too worried about the cost. I would rather pay to keep the headlights looking brand new as opposed to having to replace of polish them.

VPS, Laminex the other option is 3M blade tape used in the aeronautical industry but insanely expensive however a lot more durable than VPS or Laminex.

I checked a video on YouTube where you can use toothpaste to restore the headlight, anyone tried it out?

It may work depending on the depth of damage, all thats really required is an abrasive paste of some sort to polish out fine scratches after sanding it away... I recommend this kit from auto style and here is my thread on what it did for my lights... 10 months later and the lights are still great....
