i have a bit of a problem.
i ordered 2 headlight adjuster repair kits from BMW and it turns out that it is for the pre facelift headlights.

can anybody please assist me with the part number for the correct kit.

i have found something on real oem but not even BMW can tell me wht is in the box.item number 16 on realoem. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=DT62&mospid=47546&btnr=63_0642&hg=63&fg=05

the thing is, i already stripped my one headlight.i am trying to avoid putting it back together and the stripping again once the ebay ones arrive.

i used a hot air gun to loosen the glue and then some persuasion with a big flat screw driver.
came apart easyer than i thought it would, but getting the adjuster motor disconnected from the cradle(chrome bit inside light) was a bit more difficult.i think mainly because i was scared of breaking it.:=):

thanx, i definitely will keep that in mind.i have been eyeing this diy version even before i bought the wrong stuff from BMW.
but i figured the real deal would be better.

ok, so i combined the above mentioned methods of fixing my headlights.
here is the 2 adjusters.one is still ok and i left it on the cradle and the other is lying next to it in pieces. i decided to replace only the broken one.


here is the new one i made VS the old one(glued back together so i can measure it.)

here is the manufactured part on the cradle ready to go back in

before complete reassembly i gave everything a wipe wit a micro fiber cloth doped with alcohol.

and now i can see again.
