Hallo everyone I'm Adreon new member of the group. Finally got my first Beemer over the weekend 2003 540i. This is a real beast I've really been enjoying this car so much. It does have some minor work to be done but the body is straight no rust/dents etc. I do however need the right front grill trim piece. Some globes and thats about it.

Hi dude. Welcome to the forum. E39 is king.

Some bad news for you - this is not a 2003. It's a pre-facelift so it would be a 2000 or older year model.

You can tell this by the front fog lights, they are squared whereas facelifted models 2001-2003 were rounded. The kidney grills have a sunken-in look rather than a broader extruded chrome border of the facelift. The centre armrest with the phone was mostly replaced by either a plain flat armrest or the phone was just not there, leaving a large storage area in the lid instead.

It has facelift tail lights (clear indicators) and aftermarket headlights. It also has M5 side mirrors.

While it's definitely an M-sport, it's not a 2003 and I hope you weren't duped into thinking it is by whoever sold it to you.

Edit: also she's a manual, and manual E39 540i's are rare. Restore her, keep her, and look after her.

congratulations man....made the difficult decision of declining a swop of a 1999 540/6 for my Datsun...if it were an E34 i wouldnt think twice...if it were a facelift E39 it would be a harder choice...if it were neat as a pin...i would probably do it.

Good day Everyone
I have 320 I 2007 model and lose power and feels like a small vibration when driving. It starts about 20 minutes after i start the the car or traveled for 10 to 15km. I have checked the coils and replaced it, I have de cat the car and still the same. I have spent a fortune and cant find the reason. Spark plugs and air filter have done about 10000km only. Anyone can advise what i must look for
