I also sent my car there last time and it came back as good as new.

ok, could try get you a cheaper quote but don't know if you really care if the insurance is paying.

Ironically, it's not "the insurance that's paying", it's everyone who has a Santam policy. That includes me.

I remember my 1st year Economics professor at Stellenbosch opening his course with the "there ain't no such thing as a free lunch" quote many years ago. The professor who presented Short Term Insurance in our honours year said it a few times as well! I reckon I've said this to someone, somewhere at least 5 to 6 times a year each year since then.

Yeah, that sounds right. Luckily the quote is now at R12k and that is alot more reasonable.
