Then your response about our "exclusive" events when there has been no mention of the calibre of cars that attend the official Cars & Coffee events - perhaps you are insecure & the car you drive suits your "530d" personality.

I think everyone should just take it down a notch and not get worked up. I get where you coming from and see that you running Last lion and Cars and Coffee South Africa. Well done on the greats events done thus far, they look truly epic.

I would like to state from the onset that by no means did we make use of the name to infringe or try and confuse any enthusiasts about your future events and the one we hosting this coming weekend.

BMWFanatics has been hosting its own cars and coffee social events for a number and years and it's becomes accustomed to hosting one every year around time, Hence we drew up the banner and created the thread and posted on our portals. I hope you can see it was a deliberate attempt to cause and I'll feelings, confusion and bad blood between any parties. The previous events held in JHB that were called C&C can be found under official events/gauteng.

Lastly, the crowd that your events attracts and the ones targeted at ours, are completely different, that's why again I hope you can see it from our perspective as well why the confusion arises.

I'll leave it up to you and admins to decide what's happening from here, but please keep in mind the points mentioned above. End of the day, we all are cars enthusiasts and share a passion for the automobile industry at large.

I would urge the respective parties to take discussions off the thread and complete it via pm, so we can keep the thread clean.

Thanks for your response FiRi - I respect your view & positioning both sides of the story.

My initial posts were to inform the guys about the Existence and Trademark around the phrase "Cars & Coffee" which has been registered & has its presence within Europe, America's & Africa.

The thread then progressed very rapidly where the keyboard junkies looked to the Google Jury to come to the conclusion that the "Cars & Coffee" trademark doesn't exist.

By visiting the portal ( http://www.cars.coffee/ ) one can quickly establish that the organisation have spent loads of money developing a brand & the 1st most important step was to register a Trademark which was done.

Admin, should you wish to see a copy of such a document to resolve this matter then I will have it sent to you in prvt.

I feel like these are the two key points we need to take out of this. There is almost zero overlap (last time even on the M group nobody made CY19's cut...) and unlikely there will be any confusion between these events. Your events look like they are well organised and attended.

Cars & Coffee / Caffeine & Gasoline and other descriptors have been used for years by not only fanatics but other clubs in SA as well (including my own). Because it has been trademarked recently, virtually nobody even knows this has happened. You could trademark pretty much anything and it wouldn't stop anyone using a term that has been around before this point. I think that we should all acknowledge the spirit of this event and that there was no intention of infringing on anybody's trademarks (regardless of whether these are current or not) I suggest you provide the team with evidence and we can take action from there.

@FiRi, I think the only reason this is being discussed in the open now is since it was raised as such and not on PM.
