Not really, they make much more money off a finance deal then they do on a cash deal. Kick backs from the dealership for selling and then commission from the finance house/bank

They actually prefer to finance and not take trade ins. Kickback from banks and what not.

I got new tyres, couple of jackets and a lunch bag thrown in.

Tops. Cash is king. If you go in and buy in a few cars or just have no trade and cash you can really twist the arm of sales people this time of year.

Unfortunately not everyone is in the drug/'import export'/shady business, most of us (90%) will have to finance.
