Goodyear F1 tyres

Hoping the guys can give some info regarding the above. I just want to know if anyone fitted this tyres to their cars and mileage they got on it.
Goodyear F1 asymmetrical 2.

Reason is I fitted these to my rear wheels 28 June to be exact.
I did under 5000 km and the tyres are done.
I find this super strange as I do not do burnout or drive fast in fact the speedo of the car has not seen 150km/h since I fitted these tyres.

I had Falkens on previously and did 20k km on the rear tyres.

I am extremely pissed and thinking of raising this with Goodyear as these were not cheap in the CSL size 19" rears.

On my e36 i think i got about 20000km or close to. Btw I have the first version, not asymetrical 2.

WOW...only 5000km.....thats terrible

The only things I can think of that will increase tyre wear are

1) A soft compound tyre, designed for excellent grip, but terrible as far as lifespan is concerned
2) A heavy car (weight) is heavier on tyre wear...I was communicating with a fellow aviator in East London who also got 5000km on a set of Bridgestones on his Aston Martin (very heavy car)
3) The condition of the roads w.r.t. abrasiveness ,also affects the wear rate, concrete roads (ie concrete highway) seem to be even "harder" on the tyre wear rates. ...the new "flippin" Toll roads in Gauteng seem to nice and smooth and should be "kind" to tyre wear.
4) Then the usual suspects of heavy acceleration, and hard braking.
5) Incorrect Wheel alignment could be causing a side-load and thus scuffing and scrubbing instead of a straight ahead rolling.
6) Then also don't discount that a manufacturing fault happened w.r.t. the correct hardness/softness compound specified for this specific tyre.

Alignment I sorted out the day after I fitted the tyres.
Issue I have is I did 20k km on a set of previous tyres and driving style hasn't changed since I fitted these. I was shocked when I checked earlier and saw it's done.

I am taking the car to the place I fitted the tyres with the invoice to have it checked. Under 5k km is ridiculous esp for the price. Invoice show mileage and date of purchase.

It's a e46 M so it's not a heavy car.

The new Gauteng freeways are not smooth. Its a new technology used where they spray on the stones with bitumen. First for Africa as it speeds up the completion time vs the traditional method. Directly from the consulting engineers that designed it. You should experience higher road noise with a rougher surface and improved lifespan . Though it will be very harsh on tires

I have the Good Year A2's on my 335 in 265/30/19 rears...awesome tyre and cannot fault them...I love them...I have done about 12 000k on them and they still have about 60% life...
When I do drive the car, its often taken to speeds way beyond what you mentioned and the tyres do take some stick when I am in hooligan mode ( stressful days at work)...
I think theres definitely something wrong with your set if they only lasted 5000km. Have them checked..

Where you get the alignment done?

Precision alignment in Parow , Cape Town.
They came highly recommended.

That's my thoughts. I am planning on having it checked. If I were doing track days or heavy burnouts n launches I'd understand but non of that occurred. Hence me being puzzled to see thread in under 5000km.

I cant speak of other regions. But in PE only the dealer can align M cars. All other major franchises dont have the skills, they dont even weight the cars.

That is disturbing as I have fitted the Eagle F1 asymmetric 2 Runflats on my 19 Inch M sport rims, yet to fit to car though still got 4000 to go on 18s then will see how the F1s perform, but I think 5000kms is ridiculous even if you drive like a hooligan.

I can almost guarantee your rear trailing arm bushes are gone.

It is a common failure on the e46 M3.

Just replace the bushes and you will see the next set of these exact same tyres will also last more or less the same as the Falkens - or sligthly less, because they are a softer compound

thanks for the info I will have it checked out.
Going to contact goodyear as well and hear what they say.

Goodyear will laugh in your face, because it is not a tyre defect. If one tyre did that, then sure, but both........ Highly unlikely!

The alignment shops are useless. They dont have the expertise to notice that there is something wrong like the RTABs
