Unfortunately a 240i would be a bit out of my budget. Always wanted a M car, but again, budgetary constraints and perhaps a certain bit of temperamentality ( con rod bearings etc)
I see it's not often mentioned but apparently the n55 also requires preventative maintenance on the bearings.

I am selling my M135i now...the B58s are pricey and and x35s seem to hold their value and price better since the x40is are out. Granted, they are both good motors, the B58 (like all generationally advanced motors) are more solid than the last.

But the N55 is a motor with 5 common failure items that 3 are oil leaks...and of the 5 I did not experience the waterpump failure or vanos failure. The Oil filter housing, Sump gasket and Tappet cover, I did all of those as preventative maintenance and the car has been solid as the day I bought it, So historyof the x35 is really important as well...they all driven hard but like all, well maintained and mechanical sympathy leads to a reliable driver.

Feel free to contact me for any other details if you need, I have a full record of all mods and maintenance i have done on my car since 83000km till now.

Thanks for the advice.
Any potential problems with the turbo (wastegate etc)?

Just saw my car for sale on Autotrader. Dont know if i should kick myself for letting it go for so much less than they currently want for it or if they will actually get someone who'll pay that?
Well, they struggling to sell it at that hefty markup. Currently cut down price by R80k...

I see Transaction Capital tanked big time today, on the back of the earnings drop announcement, citing in part “margin pressure” on WBC.

Let’s hope it’s the beginning of the end of used car market lunacy.
I thought it was more because of their taxi finance exposure?

Still, the market will stabilise. As we say in quantitative finance - "revert to the long term mean"....
