Goodbye 320i, hello 320d

So with the recent sale of my 07 e90 320i I was left looking for a new daily, initially I was looking for a lci e90 330d msport but that search has been set aside for another time as I could never find one I liked or missed out on the good ones. During my search for 330d's I would often look for 320d's just in case I find a nice one that I liked, and so I did..

Here she is, 2011 e90 320d msport; here are some pictures I snapped when I took delivery last night
(Full spec list to follow shortly)

Mileage is currently at 170k kms, plan on doing gearbox service, and I'm looking into xhp, DP and software from madness motorsport. I think that's about all I'll be doing as far as performance mods go, visually I'd like to put on style 193's and perhaps dtm lights, but that's for future me to decide.. for now I'm just enjoying the stock feel of the car

Egr delete kit received from Danny, will be fitting it before I get software done. Going in for a downpipe next week and hopefully software the week after that
Regarding downpipe, does the downpipe change the sound of the car or not much? I'm rather fond of its current smooth and extremely quiet state

DP changes the sound of the car, you will get that audible whistle through to the tailpiece that lets everyon know that the car has its guts cut out lol. but under acceleration, it has nice brrraapppp sound, not sure how else to explain it :) Good thing is with the LCi, you dont need to have software done immediately...

When doing DP, a good combo to do also is to remove the center box and replace with a straight pipe piece...

I don't want it to be any louder than it is currently though, it's very stealthy, would a DP only with the rest of the exhaust system still stock be noticable? I don't mind braaap when my foot is heavy but when I'm cruising trying to be civilised I like it as it is.. dead quiet

Trust me and EVERY OTHER 320d driver that has done this before, its you first mod as your minimum and removing that box with fitting te DP will put a huge smile on your face.

BRAAAAAP is only when you floor it hard otherwise, slight whistle and normal sounding vehicle for everyday driving even with some acceleration put pedal to the floor then BRAAAAP!!

Stopped at GW today.
So she's getting treated to some fresh HX8 oil + mahle oil filter, and she's booked in for a gearbox service at ZF tomorrow (if you guys call ZF edenvale speak to Ashleigh, super friendly and helpful)
Downpipe has been delayed but it's not a concern to me as this just means it will be done closer to the time I'm doing software and xhp
