Goldwagen Bottom Pipe Temperature Sensor Problem

Hi Guys,

Has anyone had a problem with these sensors popping out during driving their vehicles? I had installed one a while back on my BMW E46 320i F/L and today on my drive to work it popped out and slowly caused the engine to overheat. Luckily I was close to my work so nothing extreme happened.

It sounds like the clip that holds it in came loose, I have not had a problem with my bottom hose from Goldwagen - The holes which the sensor clips into on the hose might be worn out, not holding the sensor firmly in place anymore.

Other possibilities:
It was not pressed all the way "home" (did not click in) when it was installed.

The clips on the sensor were not aligned with the holes in the holder on the hose when it was pressed in.

I will check, but I think the hose is sold with the sensor already installed? What I do remember is that I really struggled to get either the sensor or the hose fitted because it is a very tight spot to work in - I think I had to put the sensor in before I could fit the hose, otherwise it was impossible for me to fit the sensor after the hose was attached to the radiator.
