HI All
I need buying advice, we are looking for a family car and daily for the wife. Last year we became 3 so we need more space for stroller and car seat. The car will mainly be used for long trips and some short distance by the wife. She likes the BMW X3 and our budget is R800k max, she has agreed that we can look in the used market since a brand new X3 is way out of our budget. Here are my options
1) 2022 X3 20d <50000km. why 2022 and <50000km 1st is my budget and 2nd with 2022 the motoplan would be left with 3 yrs and 50000km so we can drive for 3 yrs or 50000km without worrying about motorplan or warranty, most of them are X-lines.
2) Audi Q5 40 tdi also 2022 models go for around R800k although they are few and extending their freeway plan is way too cheaper than BMW. My worry here is the s-tronic gearbox.
3) Hyndai tucson 2.0D N line, with my budget I can get a brand new one. What caught my attention with this car is that it has the same power figures (137kW, 416Nm) AWD, as the 20d on paper, but I don't know how that will compare in the real world and issues of reliability.
Out of the 3 we test drove the X3 and she liked it a lot.
