Gm p29 530d auto gearbox 2003

I'm looking for a gm p29 gearbox for a 2003 530d auto. Anyone know where one is available or where best bet to try? Is there any other gm gearbox that can be fine? Tried p16 but doesnt work.

What happened with the p16? There is not supposed to be much difference between the two. These boxes are all quite bad, second hand you take a lot of risk. I suggest you get the one you had rebuilt at sparklight gearboxes, it will cost ~25k, but it has a two year warranty. Be careful of cheap rebuilds, they are usually botch jobs, since the parts for a proper rebuild for these boxes is more than 15k.
