Glow plug Light stays on

Hi
whenever i start up my BMW 320d 2004 e46 the gloe plug light stay on with the letter DDE under it.
if i go past 3000 RPM it strats cutting off to the point that it turns off completely turn off and I have to start my car again.
It feels like the is not enough fule or air going through - but i cannot be sure.
It also feels like the turbo is not boosting anymore.

Please help me
ps: what is the cost of running a diagnostics on the car ?

My suggestion is to take the car to a bmw dealer or an independent bmw specialist near you...the car requires more than a read...a diagnostic check with an independent specialist should not be too expensive but ideally you want them to fix the problem as well.

Let us know what the diagnostic says. There are numerous possible causes to your problem.

From the Diagnostics he said the diesel pump is faulty.
He said it is the one under the car.

Just an FYI
Someone suggested I change my fuel
So I tried the 50PPM diesel
Car seems to be runnng better
Never had to change the pump.
The light is not comming on anymore.

Probably the high pressure fuel pump. But again, as said in this thread, have the codes read.

But I suggest first posting an introduction thread. Then creating your own thread about your issue instead of resurrecting a thread from 2010

#1. my 2004 BMW E46 320d glow plug light on the dash stays on .

the car runs perfect and starts fine

the light is on for about 4 months now and hasn't caused an issue.


#2. i changed the old battery to a willard battery of the same size about 4 months ago since the old battery was dead .

from then the central locking did not work . if i press any of the buttons on the car key , it doesn't lock or open . i have to use the key manually to lock and unlock the doors.

what could the problem be ...cause i don't think the key's battery is dead...could the cars memory have been lost ..where it receives the keys signal to lock and unlock?

how can i fix this?
