Girl friend wants a 130i... what to look out for???

So gents my girlfiend has just finished doing her honours and has now gone a job.... so naturally she would love a 135 coupe but they abit pricey so we looking for a 130i hatch or mabe a 125i coupe... can see womans decisions involved with the options... so will you guys give me things to look out for when buying a one series and also your opinion on a 125i coupe vs 130i hatch

They are, but 160kw doesn't do it for the 125 it's a damn heavy car, 130i is 195kw, pocket rocket on the coast

Inclined to agree...though the 130 with sportpack has a bit of an x factor thing going for it. Either car would do the job, perhaps finding a neat well cared for car might swing the decision:coolShake:

For a lady I would say the 125i coupe would be perfect. Decent power but doesnt have the same kick as a 130i but its decent. They both 3.0l engines, I believe manifold and a few smaller things are different.

I had the 330i and my mom has the 125i coupe and feels the same to drive until you put your foot down. Just doesnt have the same kick as the 330i.

ANother thing to consider is the coupe's prob gonna be more expensive than the hatch.

130i in alpine white with msport parkage will be perfect plus there going around +- R150k n i love mine so much plus the attention it gets its just so special

My advice would be to drive the 120d and then compare. Id go 125 coupe over 130 just for looks as I say go drive a 120d coupe too :thumbs:

Does that count for the E90 as well, 325i and 330i? Because I see there is a N52B25 motor as well, which also produces 160kw but is only a 2497cc. Or does this solely depend on the year model?

Well if you get her the 130i you'll be looking at her tail lights. So maybe a slower car to save yourself the embarrassment. :tiptoe:

Just kidding bud. IMO the 125i coupe for it's looks, and the 130i for it's powerplant.

Yes I know its ugly, but women like to transport sh!t, and the fold down seats coupled with the hatch like body comes in handy here.

Another thing is that a properly spec'd 125i is still very expensive and very close in price to a 135i

Thanks guys for all the feedback its the exact problem we facing power to looks ratio hahaha[FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY] only reason i say 125 coupe is because the 135i are very pricey for age and km on clock.... she would love a 135i coupe its her dream car (obviously 1M is but persides that)
