General price for motronic e30 325i computer box

Hi guys, just wanted to get a general feeling for the used and new price for these units, I got quoted 1500 for a repair on my unit that was damaged by water somehow,

i have a working plastic bumper one with a modded chip for 1500
can also give you the stock chip

Howsit hennie, stupid question, is there a diff between the plastic and chrome bumper boxes? When you say your box is chipped do you mean the circuits were modified to up the injection Timing and all those lovely things?

yes the plastic and chrome bumpers used different ecu
the one i have has been remapped for better performance

Last year i was quoted around R1000 for an E36 320i DME, i prefer getting a good used one than repairing. You can repair that one and have it as a spare unit.
