General Module 5 unit

Hey guys,

Does anyone know how to replace this GM5 unit?
Its located behind the glovebox and operates the windows, central locking, wipers and a few other things in the car.

I need to replace the relay for my left door central locking.
Apparently its common on the E46, same as window actuators.

A colleague got a secondhand replacement GM5 unit from Motorem in Parow for R1300. After taking his own unit out, shaking it, cleaning it and rubbing it against his pet hamster, it miraculously worked again. It's been 5 months since. I recon it's just the relay contacts that corrode slightly and need some cleaning to make good contact again. He's still got the replacement unit. If you are interested I can ask him if he wants to part with it. :thumbsup:

I'm gonna try the shaking hamster method first.
