Hey all,

So was just browsing the BMW builder while reading through a review of the G20 320i and stumbled upon this and was wondering WTF the difference between the 2.... other than an additional R3000 for the Sport automatic transmission.

Ahh, that makes sense now.

Thanks for that, I wish they added descriptions to all the extras - some have absolutely no description and make you wonder what the difference is.

Like the professional infotainment does not mention the screen for the clusters, the extra info is just blank when you want to look at it for that option. Luckily the review mentions it.

Sport Auto has LC. On the F30, the gear lever was slightly angled for the normal auto. The sport auto gear lever was straight.

Not exactly boss, the two gear leavers are just different, no slight angled or anything

So same gearbox then, just different software and stick looks different. Really clever way to get a few more ZAR’s for not much effort.

Yep! looks like that. You pay R3k extra to get pedal shifts, different stick and software. The box is ZF 8 speed and looks like its the same for both  :fencelook:

If you check the forum, it costs bout R3k to DIY paddles to an E90  :roflol: So I guess it isnt a bad trade-off.

R3k extra for paddles and software is definitely worth it IMO. The XHP flash costs more or less R3k for exapmle and it is worth every penny

No one ever needs paddle shifters on a diesel car. Full stop.
The low down torque makes paddles as pointless as nipples on a man...

On a tuned diesel with a smoother torque curve,it would come in quite handy. I would love to have paddles on mine
