Fuel Gauge Problem

Hi Guys, I do not have fuel in my car but the gauge shows that I have a quarter tank of pretrol. I filled up my tank and the needle did not move, I drove for about 10 kms and switched off the neddle shot right up to full, now, it went back to the original problem. What could be the problem.

my guess, fuel sending/sensor unit is faulty

Hi, had the exact same problem, turned out to be a faulty fuel sensor inside the fuel tank connected to the float, had that replaced which resolved the problem.

Hi, had the exact same problem, turned out to be a faulty fuel sensor inside the fuel tank connected to the float, had that replaced which resolved the problem.

Im also having the same problem my gauge some time stay @ Empty while i have half tank and later get back to the real time of petrol in the car,when i put full tank the nieddle goe beyond full tank and later while im driving then get to normal fulltank.
