Please, can some one tell me what is the fuel consumption of the 3l M54 six speed manual Z4? Open road/town/combined. Thanks!

Hi,

I am also interested in the average consumption of the 3.0 M54.

I've got a M54 3.0 AUTOMATIC. When I bought the car, the fuel consumption was 8.9 to 9.5. Even if I pushed the car hard, it would go up to 10, but then come down again.

I then replaced the battery and it read 12.0, but is now slowly down to 11.0. I hardly drive the car hard.... usually just cruise along at about 3000 rpm.

I think this is very high, and I posted about it here, but since I don't do a lot of mileage I haven't been that concerned about investigating it further.

Hi

I have a 3.0L 2003 Z4 (manual) , i mostly drive out of sport mode and very much like you I just cruise ,at 140km you only hit 3000rpm on the motor way . I live in the city and doing robot to robot , short roads. I average about 9.2 , I have noticed that when I fill up with Sasol I get more mileage as suppose to Shell or BP. Whatever there fuel mix is seems to work well . Is your car due for a service anytime soon , when its not at 100% it tends to use bit more fuel .

I used to get just below 8l/100km on my x 2003 3.0l Z4. That was between Fort Beaufort and PE, sure you can get even better than that.

Coming back from Somerset West (about 70kms) i got 7,3 on the obc. Yesterday filled up again at SW and it is now on 6.5l/100. Had a new clutch fitted yesterday at ZF but had quite some traffic and practically no wind coming back. Am really pleasantly surprised by the consumption. Clutch was slipping badly on the first tank, so had to nurse it all the time. Must admit that i am going for economy, so not gunning it if not needed.
