Fuel consumption: town vs open road

I have setup my fuelly account, but havent logged data yet.

My 330 steptronic does the work and back trip daily, from Moreleta Park in Pta to Barloworld Automotive in Isando, which is a 100 km round trip, with some 20 odd kays of that being start stop driving.

I also dont drive economically by default, and I average around 11.5l/100km on a tank.

If I keep to the flow of traffic, and speed limits, it does come down to 10l/100km on the same trip.

Andrew, your 318i is heavier on fuel than my 325i. :fencelook:

Yeah it is, that upward spike from September was when i noticed my fronts tires were quiet worn so had them swapped to the back, so was driving like i stole it.. the problem with the 318i is you got to drive it hard to get it going... so basically gets d driven hard all the time.. my current tank, since i got new tires, i have been taking it easy, have done 600km and it's still showing 150kms till empty, consumption is showing 8L/100kms.. but then again that's mostly highway driving at 80 to 100, and not much traffic as last week traffic wasn't too bad.
