So I took that trip last week... N4 towards Nelspruit and took the Schoemanskloof road. What a road! Had a lot of fun there. After that I pushed it quite hard through Nelspruit (my mother was with in her Cooper S, so we had a bit of fun).
On the way home we avoided the N4 - from White River we went through Sabie and Long Tom (lots of overtaking up hills and keeping my speed up on the high-side). Also took the back roads to Middelburg where we joined the N4. I didn't care for consumption - really hammered it as hard as possible in DS when overtaking (which was done a lot) and with cruise control set to 125, I was often well over that.
I reset the consumption before we left (so still in town). When I parked at home the OBC read 6.3 l/100km. Not bad.
