Front left indicator not working, but others are?

Hey guys hoping someone can help.. my E90 330i's left front indicator is taking a holiday, and the fuse diagram says I should change fuse 61 -- but if that fuse has given up shouldn't all the indicator lights not be working as well?

I'm a bit confused, have changed the bulb a couple of times but no luck, so I'm guessing it's either a fuse or (heaven forbid) a loose wire somewhere.

BMW wants R650 just to check what the problem could be.............. :thumbdo:

Wont be any harm in changing the fues. Try that first.
Perhaps an auto electrician will charge you less if anything at all to get it checked.

But your best bet will be to stop turning left

First replace the fuse . Fit a bulb from one of the other indicators that is working .
If it now works then use a good bulb like Osram or Philips etc .
If it does not work check for power at the connection to the bulb . You should get about 13 volts .
Does it work when you put the hazard lights on ?
Good Luck .

:argh:Experiencing something similar today. This morning, while having the indicator on (left) it started flashing faster. My left front headlight also wouldn't come on, but the park worked fine.

Eventually the indicator seemed to have sorted itself out, but my front left headlamp is still on strike :argh:

When you indicator flashes faster its usually an indication that a bulb has burnt off. Replace bulb on your headlight and you should be good to go buddy.

I am aware of this, but as mentioned, the indicator seemed to have sorted itself out. Flashes at normal speed and is working fine. Just the headlamp is out.

This seems to a unique problem to E90's pre facelift.
I have a 320d and both my left front indicator, left spot light and hooter have stopped working. I have checked fuse box, bulbs and tested the horn on another car and it works fine. BMW say they feel I need a new wiring harness???? WTF!!!
I'm seeing an auto electrician this weekend so hopefully will have some answers to repost on Monday.

BMW never knows how to fix. They only replace.

If you switch your hazarde on does itnworkvor not?
Does it flash inside or not?

If yes on both get your hazard relay checked. My E36 did the same thing, and got told its the indicator unit, tested with one at a scrapyard, same prob. Spoke to a guy at the BMW repair centre in sabensa and he said check the relay, replaced and working fine no probs.

Sent from my GT-P6200

Ok so mine is sorted...

The headlamp seemed to have fixed it self - I could see the bulb was not blown, but for the entire day yesterday I drove with the front indicator not working. When I started I got the warning on the dash to say the indicator bulb was out, and the other 2 indicators were still flashing fast.

Last night, I thought, let me google to find out what bulb it is as I'm sure the bulb is blown, and where I could find replacement bulbs. I eventually came across Osram Diadem globes which Diesel Electric stock. So I thought, let me go remove the bulb to make double sure it's the same thing before running off to Diesel Electric today.

Popped the cover from inside the wheel arch and removed the globe from the main light housing. To my surprise I saw the globe was perfectly fine :fishwack:

I removed the globe from the holder to make sure the rest of the globe was fine, and then replaced everything with a very confused mind. I then locked the car and noticed, the freaken indicator flashed when I locked the car. I unlocked, inserted key, switched on ignition and put on the left indicator. Worked perfectly and has been since :argh:

Sorry for the long read, wanted to give the full story :fencelook:

Had the same prob at the beginning of the year:thumbdo:... It took the stealers 3 times to rectify it (never going back to that particular one:nonono:), finally saying the prob was a loose wiring harness. Luckily the car is still under motorplan so was done at no charge ... Maybe you have a similar issue which a good auto-electrician can sort out.
