Hi Guys,

I want to do away with RFT, is there anything I can consider before going the standard tyres, for instance do I have to change rims? Im using 205/55R16

Assume you've already got a spare tyre with a jack, as those puncture sealing kits can't be fully trusted if you have serious tyre damage.

run flats sucks i agree but what do u do if u get a puncher with normal tyres???? theres no spare? and driving with a full spare in the boot isnt very practical.. so how do you work your way around this?

Been up and down this whole RFT/non-RFT tyre issue road - personally as long as the tyres behave properly without negatively affected handling and road holding I am perfectly happy with RFT's. The added safety aspect is also good, not so much the being able to continue driving after a puncture, but the reduced risk of loosing control after a sudden loss of pressure.

But, depends on what you want. If you have a space-saver in the boot then non-RFT's are perfectly fine! And as already answered, fit perfectly fine on RFT wheels.

I've put STD tires on my OEM rims.

I prefer the STD to the RFT. Got a better ride and handling. In every corner with the RFT the traction control lights were often on.... With the STD tires the light hardly comes on.

I got no spare wheel in the car, got 1 at home.... In the boot I've got the "tyre puncture spray can" and an air pump
