Hi Twincam Shark

The dealer that does the holiday check is suppose to give you the letter from BMW which says what is and isn't covered and how to register your vehicle with the Europassist.

If you have any problems let me know and I will see what I can do to help you.

Hi PizzaBoy

No you don't, just call your nearest dealer and make a booking for the holiday check. When you collect the vehicle ask for the documents to register and you can then decide, but I would because it has lots of benefits and it is FREEEEEEEE.

Hi rodga

The check is more a visual check, tyres, fluid levels in engine bay, brakes, battery terminals, any damage under vehicle, function of lights, safety belts, wipers. I ask my guys to go a bit further and check for leaks (we don't pressure test the cooling system) and condition of belts and any obvious possible problems. Most of the guys on this forum can probably do all of this by themselves, the plus point is the road side assistance (YOU NEED TO ASK FOR THE DOCUMENTS if they are not given to you when the check is completed, and then you also need to register your vehicle on line). I have had guys coming in for the holiday check and ask if they can take a look at the bottom of their vehicles seeing as though most people never see their vehicles from below, each to his own.

If one sees something potentially serious then one can contact the client and ask permission to look further.

Hi

Just wondering , If a car fails the holiday check , does it still qualify for all those benefits?

Is there a limit on the number of holiday checks one can take their car in for a year?
I took mine in , in December for its holiday check , and completed all the registration documents , they said my car passed the check . If I ask for another check will they take it in again?

Hi zippy320

I have not heard of any limits, probably only one allowed per holiday. as for passing or failing the check, there isn't any criteria. it is up to the client if you wan to repair the vehicle.
