Hi Guys

Need to focus my headlights on my e36 328i. The headlights are badly out of focus. Any advice on how to focus them?

Thanks.....

If you pop the bonnet you'll see two white little gear looking things right behind your headlights. Use a #2 phillips screwdriver and adjust accordingly.

Theres two on each side. The one farthest to the outside of the car adjusts horizontally, and the one that is center between the bulbs adjusts vertically.

More info here: http://www.bmwe36blog.com/e36manual.zip

And i think its only decent if you up my reputation please.

For the E46, the thing that gets adjusted looks like small thumb rolls with a torq screw receiver in the middle, but sometimes they can look like white plastic screws that you have to turn with an allen key or whatever its called(dont know what size though) so look for that.

I think the e46 xenon facelift has auto level adjusters, just like the E90s,they also have a sensor, which sometimes gets "pongy" and cant calculate how to "level" out. Do you lights go up and down when you switch the car on with the headlamp turn knob in the on position?

the autoleveling, and the alignment are 2 different things when it comes to bi-xenon. you still have to align them correctly

here is the proper alignment guide - http://m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=176238&page=2

Thanks Kabal just printed it out gonna try it later.

Uhhmm, the headlights going up and down when you start the car is not auto-levelling headlights, the lights just do that so that they both are set at the same high according to the setting on the LCM panel.
