Flywheel replacement.

Hi all
Is it a must to replace the flywheel when I replace the clutch on my 2005 X3 2.0D.
Please any info much appreciated. 160 000 k's on clock.

IMO, not sure if it is a must but definitely recommended. Those dual mass flywheels do deteriorate with time. Instead of having to do the job a second time when the flywheel fails I would say do the whole thing once. My 2c

I was thinking of going that route on my e46 320d. How bad are the vibrations?

On my e46 years back I replaced the clutch only and eventually ended up removing gearbox again and fitting a new dualmass flywheel. So I recomend teplace
