Flooded Garage

lol, that thing definitely floated... the only time water could maybe come in is if the water comes up to the window line ...

haha ... man thats so weird !

the water was still below the air intake tho. don't worry... I've seen an E90 started and being driven in water deeper than that.

So far BMW say it needs a new exhaust and at only R50K its a bargain.. They said they will try getting the brake disks & pads & some other things replaced under motorplan and still will be checking other stuff like gearbox etc

Then we must check to see if there is any body damage from the trees & rubbish floating around the car

The cars still under motorplan so my dad would not want to go the aftermarket route.

In my view, motorplan should of course refute the entire claim, as the conditions of the incident fall beyond the scope of "wear and tear".

Insurance should pick up this tab, right up to the last brake sensor, with a single excess

I totally agree with Zaleo here, but then on the other hand it will all depend
on what cover you have on your insurance.

Insurance should cover it all. Think the bmw guy is just being nice saying he will try get some stuff covered by motorplan.

The headlights and the windscreen also got "damaged" in this event :) so hopefully they can also get replaced as they are so sand blasted.

54k damage. Exhaust and fogs. The keys was cause they did not work nicely. Had to put key right up to the car before it worked. Not flood damage related

So yesterday again they tell my dad the car is ready..

He goes there & fills in all paperwork that needed filling in.

Goes to check the car & now there is a +-1inch scratch between the grill & 1 headlight that was not there before.. So told them to fix it..

Then they fought with him saying he needs to return the courtesy car as its assigned to another customer, he told them to forget it..

Last time we ever sending a car to lyndhurst auto..

Even signed the paperwork for my moms new car through Zambezi auto...
