I need some help guys...

I purchased this wonderful steering wheel for my ///Mistress

As most of you know, this the steering wheel from the 4 door E36 M3, so the spline size is exactly the same as mine. However the problem the guys at APS found out was that the new steering has 1 plug which controls the hooter & airbag. Whereas on the model I have it 3 separate points for these connections.

Has any1 done this steering swop on a coupe before and how much work is involved to get it working perfectly?

hmm.

just trying to picture this.

the 4door steering wheel has two connectors.
it has the 3pin yellow one, that fits into the centre of the airbag, and a 2nd one, which I assume is then the group, with fits on the outside of the airbag.

maybe post some pics of exactly what you mean?

also, what is the old steering wheel called. the new one is called "m sports"?

if you dont mind me asking, how much did the wheel cost? probably going to try sell mine, so want to get a ballpark

So from the research I have done so far, the pre 95 model E36's have different slip rings to post 95. But the swop over ain't impossible to do, will require some parts purchasing. But will chat to Anton & Paul about it 2moro:thumbs:

And thanks to E30 Freak for finding this thread http://www.dvatp.com/bmw/steering_wheel_conversion/
