Fitted e24 Recaros to the e28

Hi Guys,

Bit of a progress update. I sourced a pair of e24 material recaro's that exactly matched the pattern of my e28 :rollsmile:

Anyway they are fitted, so happy about how they feel.

But heres the bad part. went away over the long weekend and commissioned the interior guys my dad uses to make up some adapter plates like these so i could bolt them on.

Pretty simple right? Turns out they bloody welded bars across onto the e28 bases, which were perfect and are now ruined! it looks so shoddy and now I cant mount the e28 seats back on, if need be. IM SO ANGRY, have to find new bases for the e28 seats, which is going to be a needle in a hay stack find to find perfect working ones.

I should have made the set myself.

Anyway here are the pictures. I also need to find headrests.

bugger, the seats are at a place in VanderBylPark......maybe if you ask Louis on the forum here, he has the 530Mle and lives in Vereeniging he will go and look for you before you arrange for the courier to pick them up. At Hencor they have several e28's, there is a 535 with seat etc....somebody would need to go and look.

You might want to look at e12/8 seats as well my 535iM as the exact same seats. Other person you can try is Dawood 076-794-2931 who might have a set for you.

Solid! Thanks a bunch Adi! Will phone around tomorrow morning , I may know someone in Vereeniging who can look for me, I will ask them about some other parts as well if you say there are several.

e28's and parts are scarce at all the bmw places and scrappers in CPT. Been looking for non chrome bumpers for a while.

I just know there must be many of these cars just standing on farms or wherever and are just not advertised, a sad thought

at Hencor they have, they might even have the bumpers...my e12/8 is complete so I was not looking that closely....but checked if it was not on M5 e28 standing, but it was a 535, and there were also some 528's as well. They have a large selection of classics going all the way back to early BMW / Glass models, so really really old stuff........how much is still useable no idea...!
