Lekker Firi, this car is immaculate on so many levels!

I wonder what you'd be able to get for her if you were to sell? Hmmmmm:rollsmile:

Is that how the spark plugs look after 30 000 km?
Why did Bmw refuse to change them? That's odd...
Will be changing mine too on the next service.... Preventative maintenance ftw

Mw service schedules are utter crap. Oil change every 25000kilos instead of 10 000km. Who leaves oil for that long in performance vechiles. When I requested plugs and oil to be changed at 75 000km I was refused

Wow. Even if you paid for it?
I changed mine at 15000 but accepted Motor plan wouldn't pay so I paid it myself and they done the rest covered by Motorplan. Oil and oil filter change R950
First scheduled service was at 30 000. Haven't reached that mileage yet but car is 2 years old. Didn't make sense

So Saturday was TheFanatics Dyno day. Left work slightly earlier, made the 50k trek and 1.5km before HM Auto , my waterpump decides to pack up.

Needless to say, I was really dissapointed as I was looking forward to the event and sending time with the chaps. However that wasn't meant to be, well not entirely. I knew the procedure and what to do in the case the pump gives in, and I knew something was up the minute I took Barbra road off ramp as I could feel something is off on the car.

I thought I'll describe what happened briefly within the space of 500m. Hope this helps someone who may be in the same situation as some point.

1.) Fan comes on, max cool and louder then normal. ..first tell tale sign. Began slowing down already.

2.) Yellow warning light came on, indicating possible failure of the thermostat or pump. I pulled to extreme left of the road looking for safe spot to stop.

3.) Red warning light Came on just as I brought her to a complete stop.

DO NOT ever continue driving the car as you will cause serious damage to the engine and possibly crack the head as water is no longer circulating.

Gave Arbee as a call, and put it on my whatsapp groups. Within 2 ticks, forum members , Hamza , Kalz and David with there and David towed me to the Event. Thanks chaps for the speedy assist. AA was called, I met a few new forum members and old friends. Shared a lot of laughs within the 40 min AA took to pitch up and load her on the flat bed.

As Kish pointed out...she looked like a beached whale at HM auto

New Oem waterpump, thermostat, 3 new aluminium bolts and 2 bottles coolant purchased on monday and fitting in this week.

Car was towed directly to Moe from Auto-xessorise Xcessorise who will carry out the work. His work is solid and he stays next door so very convenient for myself. Thanks again Mohammed.

Cost on Replacement parts

Supplier Thermostat WP Total

BMW - R1318 - R6433 - R7751

GW - R1100 - R6250 - R7350

I ended up paying R6000 for the lot including coolant. A fanatic referred me to someone who had an extra set laying at home.

Great Post Firi. I'm sure this will help a few gents if this ever happens to anyone. Can you perhaps just add what this cost you?

Just to add, all this happened in 5 minutes. I called Firi to let him know that the driveway is not low friendly and he should use the extreme right to enter.

I then went into the dyno room to watch and shortly after, i got a call from Firi. I think i missed his call and called him back, so within 5 minutes.

Damn E90 woes!

:sorry: The Dyno was your event, you set the entire event up. I was upset that you could not stay to enjoy.

Finally Got down to getting my coilies fitted to the car along with the new brake upgrade kit.

Was given a good deal for the brake kit and Bilstein Ride Control Coilies, By RennZport and made the purchase 3 months back [SEE-NO-EVIL MONKEY]

I intended fitting the brake calliper guides purchased from Axis. We hit small snag, as we were unaware that the 335/m3/135 require 4 longer Guides. Moranor was quickly on the ball and we will sorting this out asap. Will review all the products when they done.

Part 1 of the install of the coilies is done. I'm left to complete the wiring for the ride control system. Moe from Auto Xessorize will assist me once again in getting this done. Will post some decent pics once it's all done.

will soon have the extended guide bushings available for the M3/335i/1m ordered rubber bushings from BMW should be here in two weeks (ex Germany) length will be taken off those :)

guide pins are the same diameter (confirmed with part numbers) and the OD of the bush looks that same from pics (will confirm when I have the rubber bush) so it looks like its only a length increase

feedback on the bushes has been positive so far from customers soon M3/335i/1m can enjoy then too
