Sooooooooo, last night..

I took Betty out for a drive around town because I missed her. so I call a buddy of mine which is also a ///M enthusiast. I told him I was on my way to pick him up. He has been more excited to see Betty in the metal. I get to him after taking a nice loooooong drive. There is that guy, smiling from ear to ear.. just like I did when I got into her the first time.

so we head out and I am explaining to him how the car is still tight, no funny clanging noises, she is dead quiet except for some tyre and road noise. he says he can and she feels awesome and solid. I complained though about the clutch taking so low and he says that apparently its normal, to which I respond, I am just scared the clutch might be going.

so he says, have you pushed her a little since you have it and reply not really because I want to bed her in properly etc and then do an oil service because she stood for about 2 months and prior to that wasn't driven much.

so I tell him, the car scares me a bit because she is extremely responsive and she moves at a drop of a hat. throttle response is as sharp as a knife edge. so I had just pulled away from a stop street, and cruised gently from first into second and said to him, just look at what I mean.. I pushed the clutch in, gave a rev let go the clutch and she darted like a marble out of a slingshot. I brake and the next stop street and he looks at me and says, that was actually not as quick as I expected but very quick none the less. so I felt a tad sad until, I get this pungent smell of something burning.. I ask him, can you smell that.. he replies, yep and looks at me says, its definitely not the clutch.. was burning some tyres.. :biglol::biglol::biglol:

soooooo, i am happy to report that the clutch is fine but i don't think the tyres are going to last. admittedly, the car felt like i was driving on butter.. SHOOOOOOO!!!!!!
