HI all,

my wife decided she wanted to change the paint work on my BMW and reversed into our gate.

anyways - tail light bust and scratched the bumper, i had it fixed via insurance, what I want to know is if i was suppose to inform BMW and if this would affect my motorplan ?

They'll pick up the light errors generated by the broken taillight. Best to go to BMW to report it so they can inspect it was done properly. Insurance needs to fit this bill as well, as you don't want to put your plan at risk.

You simply tell them that you only realized after the repair was done that you were supposed to report to BMW. This will also give you peace of mind that it was a proper repair done to your car.

just the tail light cover cracked and the bumper scraped. but i dont like driving a nice car that has a dent so i went to fix it

Yeah def have them inspect it. That lense was most probably ordered on your vin which means it's allready suspended. To get it instated again you need to take it in for them to inspect
