FCABS on E46

Hi guys. I just want to know if paying R2300-00 for the FCABS on my e46 is the best price I can get or if I can get it cheaper. Yes it is OEM product from BMW themselves and already pressed so it's just a quick bolt on project which I can do myself but that price sounds a bit high to me. Also I don't really want to go for the Poly utherane bushes as I read the NVH values could be bothersome. Thanks!

price is high... FCABS are a common replacement part unless you go polly

try some parts shops you should get them way cheaper than that and because they a wear item they should also be easy to find...

Whoooa!. Those replacement lollipops go for less than R300 a set if you go for the poly (which you don't want), but I replaced with oem spec rubber ones which cost me R600 for the set IIRC. SupaQuick fitted them so I dunno where they got them.

Maybe Goldwagen might help you out.

Peertjie, do you want to replace ONLY the bushes, or the entire control arms??

just the bushes....arms are still okay...i can feel the car diving on the road and at speeds higher than 140 i can feel a definite vibration

Just phoned Bemows. They have it for R615....but I don't know which make though! Does it matter much. I don't want to replace just for fun.

Ok, I did mine on my 2003 E46 325i 3 weeks ago. Parts at Goldwagen were R800, and it took me and Frikkieh, another forum member, all but 1 hour to replace both.
Trick is, you dont even have to take off the wheels.

If you can get the parts, and you are willing to drive to Villieria in Pretoria, thats near Gezina, then I am sure if I ask Frikkie we can help you to put the bushes in. :thumb:

+1 on all the info here. I replaced mine about 60 000km ago and they are still fine. R600 was all inclusive labour etc at Supaquick about 3 years ago.

I replaced mine with Meyle HD last year. Got them from Imcomex in Centurion. Even has new bolts in the kit. I think I paid R1300 for the LCAB's.

R1300 :dropjaw: but they are very good so i guess its worth it...

just for interest sakes the e46 powerflex ones from me are R790 a pair these come without lollipops but i am going to run a swap out system where people pay a deposit and i will press in the bushes for them and they can send the old ones back to me to get the deposit back :)

Meyle HD and powerflex are the best options for this...
