TOP TEN 6-CYLINDERS NORMALLY ASPIRATED
1. Rafik Ramzam Ford Escort 12.48 Matuba 2009
2. Gavin Wilkins Ford Capri 12.50 Killarney 1992
3. Amith Singh Ford Escort 12.53 Matuba 2010
4. Sue Hurdayal Beach Buggy 12.63 Margate 2010
5. Yathin Ramdhial BMW E46 M3 12.82 Matuba 2009
6. Sameer Dawood BMW E46 M3 12.89 Matuba
7. Joel Batty Silva BMW E46 M3 CSL 12.90 East London 2010
8. Raymond Pillay BMW E30 M3 12.93 Tarlton 2010
9. Ashfaaq Bux BMW Z3-M 12.94 Matuba 2009
10.Mahen Mohanlall BMW E46 M3 12.97 Matuba 2010

The above list is based on the Speed and Sound "Quickest in the Land" board, and perhaps I should not have placed it here on this board because there are few unexplained rules regarding who is placed and under which circumstances. Since this weekend, I've had a few calls regarding who's on the list and unfortunately, 1 or 2 were about Cleo. Others demanded to be placed yet I disagreed due to the fact they have had to back up their best run by 1%. Since then I've placed Sue Hurdayal in the Beach Buggy, and updated Mahen Mohanlall's with a 12.97, while Yathin Ramdhial is NOW the quickest 4-pipe at the moment with a 12.827.

WRT Cleo, I managed to get hold of the results from way back, and as you can see, he did not back up his best run by 1%. In anyone else's eyes, this qualifies as a confirmed run (and an impressive one at that!), but in my instance with the board and it's rules which has applied for many in the past, he'll need to back it up. His best time for the board is infact a 13.16. I've cancelled out many runs in the past with many competitiors throwing tantrums, but what's good for one must apply for all.

Impressive time yes, (fook me, way back in 2006!) but check the 60ft. Not even my CRX can post a 1.51 60ft time at Tarlton on a prepped track.

Anyway, I hope this explains my reasoning, George.
Give me a call if you wanna discuss it over some tea and muffins.:)

Sjo that 60ft is sketchy bud! My 60ft average between 1.8s - 2.0s and not many hold candle from the word go..
0.8s 60ft is good for a 6s 1/4mile run!

Well Done...Awesome times with the CSL!!! The car looks just as good as the times :)

When are you coming down to Durban with the CSL. I think you would have more serious contenders down at the coast (Margate or Matuba). Would be nice to see this car go up against the likes of Mahen's 4 pipe that recored a 12.7 and runs constantly in the 12.8s most runs.( driven by Yathien). Mahens 2dr which is probably the fastest 2 dr E36 in the country ran a 12.84 last week at Matuba so it would be great to see some JHB 4pipes contending down here in Durban. :) Cleo has also done a white SMG 4pipe which hasn't run in the drags as yet. I have seen this car on the dyno where it recorded abt 262kw at the wheels. I heard a rumour that the owner only races V8 lol...so it must be a serious car as well. hope he runs in the drags next year as well.

BTW..There is always alot said about times, (MSA/Non MSA), Altitude, coast etc, hot weather and cold...so I think some good runs with some serious contenders down here on the same day will be fun

Durban has some fast 4pipes, and I know that your CSL is super quick and it would be nice and sporting of you to come down and race with the guys sometime next year :) Good clean fun....you would probably set better times down here :)

Congrats Batty with that run,LOCO is running real well..even at altitude and i know it been in service for a few years now, always in the background pics when i read the SNS; its jus amazing for these N/A cars to be running there times in full trim, incredible

@FTW: What are the other strong ///M's in Durban running?? Hope a couple of shrick cams and excede software will atleast get me in the low 13's down here in P.E....funny how every nerd on there car forums claim to be beating M3's , with cars only doing 14s 1/4miles?? then again, not everybody knows how to extract the best out off a e46/30 M3..

Again Congrats to LOCO LOCO LOCO!

One thing i don't understand is how ca you compare sea level time's and speed with Highveld times coz a Standard E46 M3 ain't that Strong at JHB but going down with that same car to Durbz what a Gun then so is this fear then the top 8 fastest times??????

Nothing stops us highveld guys to go to a sea level event! Loco is from jhb and he took a mother long drive to east-london to achieve his time!

yeah?? how strong do you rate LOCO's 13.1 @175km/h in the highveld, i tell you what it is, its :dropjaw::dropjaw: for a N/A car

well up in jhb u have traction cause of the tracts up there, where as down at the coast (besides maybe cape town) the tracks have no traction.
So its a compromise, extra traction vs extra power

I ran a 12.9 without much traction, the Cape boys (who race religiously at Killarney) were there and they can vouch for that too. On the day, all of them were 0.3 to 0.5 off their personal best achieved at Killarney. I know the CSL is capable of a mid-12 at the coast with a prepped surface. Maybe even better with a lighter driver too...:)

Your brothers car is quick! He had some awesome TOYO semi's.. He out launched me by about 2 cars and I had to catch up closer to the end. Would love to see how my car run on other than steet tyres. I don't launch to bad with the street tyres but my second and 3rd gear changes leaves some black lines!
If I don't sell my car by the time my 328 turbo project is finished , ill get a ZF box and some serious rubber and see what I can do to my PB time!

Did your brother ever take the M6 to a track or VBOX?
