FAO: TLGP Hot Hatch Experts

Sooooooooo..... My friend just purchased an Audi A1 1.4TFSI and has challenged me and my Cooper S Clubman to a TLGP (on a private test track of course).... You must understand, everything we have ever stood for comes down to this moment and I MUST WIN!

The tale of the tape:

The turbo Cooper S has 125kw, 240NM (extra 20NM on overboost), weighs 1250kg and is manual.
The supercharged and turboed A1 has 136kw, 250NM, weighs 1100kg and is automatic (7 speed S-Tronic).

All in he has the power, weight and gearing advantage, but I should be able to out launch him.

I will be removing the rear seats tonight in an effort to drop some weight out of the car (he is also 20kgs lighter than me ) and I am adding some octane booster to get the most out of the fire breathing monster 4pot turbo 1.6.

Any other suggestions to get a few more meters on him bearing in mind I only have a few hours to implement!? :idea:

Nah but in all seriousness, just race it as a daily drive, this way you get an accurate result between the 2 cars... well that's just my view....

I haven't launched it hard in a while (I have some mechanical sympathy in me)... Going to have to get some practice in!

Drive the car a bit hard until the race. I find my car preforms a bit better on the bottom end when it's been driven hard for a little while. Must be something to do with the adaption.

I'm leaning towards the A1 on this race, the dsg box is going be its biggest advantage.

However, when racing, anything can happen. Often I've seen cars with less power and lower PTW ratio victorious.

My bet is the A1

They are nippy, a friend of mine had a Polo Gti DSG and we went against a 135i from robort 1st and 2nd we where next to him just showing you thos 1.4s isnt slow, 3rd the 135 came past lol
