Fanatics car boot sale / flea market

Over a period of time, I've started to accumulate a fair amount of "spare parts" for my BMW. Some of it has value, while other stuff, I really don't mind giving away or swapping for other stuff that I can potentially use.

So what do you guys think of having a fanatics car boot sale? Basically, a normal meetup, but where you bring along some of your junk for sale, swap or even give away. However, it needs to be reasonable stuff that you can fit in your boot - we don't want members to get carried away by hauling an entire E34 body shell ...

Also, we just need to keep it under control somehow, so we don't have random non-forum strangers pulling in to claim stuff. For example, maybe, some way of controlling entry to forum member who have more than 100 posts.

What do you guys think?

We can even have the forum sponsors bring their commercial offers to the party, but everyone else just brings along stuff to sell from their boot.

Good idea or not? Any suggestions?

Hmm , how about you rather make a new section where only members with more than 100 posts can see and you list everything you got . I'm not gonna go through my garage to find things and then no one wants it . The waste of energy lol , but either way good idea .

If 100 posts get enforced for that reason you will see a lot of one word postings i.e. "great" or "super" or "nice" or even just post using smilies....

Also, the 100 post is just a suggestion. If we do have this at some sort of public venue, then the idea is to keep it a bit "contained", hence the "100 post" suggestion.

Maybe before the actual event, we could post up lists of what we have so you don't end up cramming all your loot into the boot, without anyone showing any interest.

This is an excellent idea.

Share you idea's and knowledge as well as comments on different topics and you will be surprised as to how many posts you wud have contributed!!!
